Board of Directors

The Middle East Orphans Relief Foundation is currently in its founding stage.

At this stage, the foundation is led by its founder:

Founder & Acting Director
Haissam Malas
Founder of the Middle East Orphans Relief Foundation

Haissam Malas is a Syrian-born human rights advocate who has lived in multiple countries and witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by displaced communities. His work is driven by a long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable children, particularly orphans affected by conflict, poverty, and instability.

Current Structure
As the foundation is in its early development phase, governance and operations are currently managed by the founder. This approach allows for flexibility and careful structuring of the organization in alignment with legal and transparency requirements in the Netherlands.

Future Governance
The foundation is actively working toward establishing a formal multi-member Board of Directors, including individuals with experience in:

  • Non-profit governance
  • Finance and compliance
  • Humanitarian work
  • Community engagement

New board members will be selected based on integrity, expertise, and alignment with the foundation’s mission.

Commitment to Governance
The foundation is committed to building a strong and independent governance structure to ensure accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

Updates regarding board expansion and governance structure will be published on this page.
